HANDMADE ACOUSTIC AND ELECTRIC GUITARS
Custom hand build acoustic and electric guitars made to order and your personal specifications using only hand selected tone woods and materials.
All my guitars are built by hand and with hand tools only, there is no CNC machining involved in the process of the build.
By ordering one of Dogiel guitars you will be a part of the entire process from start to finish ensuring that the final product meets your expectation.
CUSTOM REFURBISHMENT, SERVICES REPAIRS AND MAINTENENCE
I also love renovating and repairing old instruments. Giving new life to a forgotten, beaten up neglected guitar and seeing how it transforms back to its former glory gives me a great sense of satisfaction.
General Service and maintenance, repairs and modification are also available. With over 20 years’ experience in this field, I’ve had the privilege to work on vintage and modern guitars of all major manufactures, as well as being the go-to guitar servicer for Jackie Chambers (Girlschool, Syteria) Punky Mendoza and Dave Aitken (Heavy Pettin) to name a few.
GUITAR BUILDING COURSES
My Guitar building courses are designed to accommodate everyone no matter of your previous wood working experience.
Over the duration of the course you will be learning about guitar design, how to sharpen and maintain tools (plains, chisels, scrapers), as well as safe usage of hand held electrical tools (routers, routing table, saws, sanders, various drills and their attachments) and for the acoustic guitar builds bending irons and heating blankets.
Due to space limitation and the need of my undivided attention and guidance i can only accommodate two students at any given time.
I should also mention those only instruments which are built with the highest level of craftsmanship and attention will be allowed to leave the workshop.
For this reason there is no time limit in which you will need to finish your course.
And lastly in case of the copies of well-known brands the application of any branded logotypes are strictly forbidden and won't be allowed.
There are two types of courses:
Electric guitar build with classes one day per week (other arrangements are possible depending on my workload) you should be able to finish your instrument within 3 months (10-15 weeks) depending on your ability and the accuracy of your work, and type of instrument you will chose to build.
The price of the course will include materials (tone woods fret wire, truss rod, glues, stains and oil finishes), in terms of the hardware you will have option to ether order individually (use a donor hardware) or i can assist by using my supplier network at cost price.
Prices start from R15000 with 50% deposit (unreturnable) at the start of the course and the remaining 50% before completion course.
Acoustic or Classical guitar build
Please bear in mind that Acoustic guitar builds are much more laborious and the time of the build will take about 6 months (20-30 weeks).
The reaming terms and conditions are exactly as in the case of the Electric guitar build course.
Prices start from R30000 with 50% deposit (unreturnable) at the start of the course and the remaining 50% before completion course.
